Halloween Party Series: Healthy Halloween Treats for Kid Parties, Lunches, School Parties or After-School Snacks

Check out these ideas for making healthy and fun Halloween Party Treats for kids (ideal for classroom parties, kid parties, lunches or after school snacks). Plus read how you can get many of the items on sale through my sponsors at Albertsons and their Stock Up Sale going on now!

Healthy Halloween Treats
As a preschool teacher, I love throwing holiday parties for the kids in my class. The kids get so excited about these special events and that makes me excited too. However it can be tricky to bring in some fun treats for the class without giving them too much sugar. With Halloween approaching, I have been trying to come up with some fun, yet healthy, spooky treats for our class party.

Here are a few of the ideas that I have come up with for our class party. I think they would also work great as fun Halloween lunches or after school snacks, or an easy snack to send to school for classroom parties.

Healthy Halloween Treats
Now is a great time to start planning for this as Albertsons is hosting their Stock Up Sale now through 10/14/14. This is a huge sale with great deals around the store on many of the items you will need to make these healthy Halloween treats. To help you in planning I will include all of the Albertsons Stock Up Sale match-ups with each treat idea!

Bagel Spiders

This creepy crawly is easy to put together and an awesome way to make a healthy lunch more exciting!

You will need:
Bagels (Albertson’s Bagels $1.99 for 6 ct)
Peanut Butter (40 oz Essential Everyday Peanut Butter $5.99 or Jif Peanut Butter 15.5-16 oz. $1.69 with in-ad coupon)
Jam (Smucker’s Strawberry Jam 32 oz $2.88 with in-ad coupon)
Raisins
Bananas

To Make:
Spread peanut butter on the top
half of the bagel and jam on the bottom half. Put on-top of each other and push the top half slightly back revealing a small line of jam (for the lips)

Attach 2 raisins to the top of the bagel (for eyes) with a small dot of peanut butter on each raisin.

Slice 1 banana into 8 spears, and arrange on a plate around the bagel as legs.

Juice Box Ghosts

Healthy Halloween Treats
These fun treats are so cute and super easy to put together. They would make a fantastic snack to send to school for classroom Halloween parties (so much easier to try and transport then cupcakes).

I am going to have the juice boxes wrapped, and let my preschoolers draw their own ghost faces on as a fun and easy art project for our Halloween party!

To make simple wrap each juice box in a sheet of white printer paper (like you would a present) and draw two eyes, a scary mouth and a bow tie around the neck! Easy!

Fruit Cup Pumpkins

Healthy Halloween Treats
Making eating fruit fun, with these fun fruit cup pumpkins. Would be great to slip into your kids’ school lunch boxes or to have out ready for a fun after-school snack.

To Make: purchase a pack of fruit cups in an orange fruit variety (I picked mandarin oranges, but I think peaches would work well too). Simply use a permanent marker to draw a pumpkin face on the top of each fruit cup, and your done! Easy and no mess!

To add some flair to your “healthy treats” Halloween Party, be sure to pick up some Halloween napkins (2 for $5) or Halloween Paper Towels (10 for $10) during the Albertson’s Stock Up Sale, and check out all of the other great savings at a store near you or through their online ad.
