Lake Tahoe Lakefront Getaway at Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa

It’s no secret I love heading to Lake Tahoe for a quick getaway – or a long one! I feel like I’ve been to Tahoe several times in the last few years, but every time I visit feels nearly like the first time. There’s so much to see and do, and so many fantastic places to eat. This winter we stayed high up in the mountains of Tahoe, and enjoyed the snow and staying cozy inside our resort. Once the weather turned warm, we just had to get back for a Lake Tahoe lakefront getaway at Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa. If you’re looking to wake up to views of the lake then this is your place!

You can’t get any closer to the lake than the condos at Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa. Boasting it’s own private beach, plus swimming pool and hot tub, you really don’t ever have to leave and you’ll be in for one heck of a getaway. The property has several grills for beachside grilling and the atmosphere is just perfect.

The property has several rooms to choose from and we were lucky enough to score a two-story condo that slept 7, which was perfect for our family of 6. Downstairs had a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, upstairs had a loft with a double and a twin, and an additional private bedroom with another queen bed. Even better than all that was the fact that we had two bathrooms! The only tricky thing about the upstairs bathroom is that the private bedroom is on the other side of the bathroom, so if someone is using the bathroom, one could get trapped in the bedroom. Just something to keep in mind if you have impatient children, so you can come up with a plan for usage. Maybe my kids are the only intolerant ones. You’ll also want to space out the showers as I found the water heater to be a bit touchy. This might not be the case in one of the smaller condos.

While I did mention Tahoe has so many amazing places to eat, a family of 6 really appreciates having accommodations with a kitchen. If I had an endless pocketbook this may not be an issue, but who has one of those? We eat out our fair share, to get a taste of the city, but there’s something about being able to do some of your own cooking. The Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa has a way of making you feel like you have a home away from home. Next to the kitchen is a cozy living room with television, if for some reason you don’t want to spend all your time outside.

For those lazy mornings where we took our time to get going, the room had board games on hand, which was perfect for the kids to start and end their day. There’s nothing like a friendly game of chess while allowing the lakefront breeze to waft into the room. It’s also a good opportunity for big brother to teach little sister how to actually set up the chess board.

If you’re visiting the property during the cold winter months, you’ll be pleased to know they offer outdoor lockers to keep your skis safe in-between use. The property is in a great location and close to the ski lifts, in addition to the lake. Win-win for year round visits! Plus, hang out in the lobby where there are comfortable chairs and complimentary coffee and hot chocolate. The lodge is also within walking distance to a diner and drugstore, so you don’t have to load up the gang if you need a bite to eat, or need some grilling essentials for that beach picnic.

From my visits to Tahoe, I can tell you finding close parking and open beach space can sometimes be tricky. You won’t have either of those issues if you stay at this awesome Lake Tahoe Lakefront property.
