The 5th movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean family is finally hitting theaters everywhere this Friday, May 26th. Last week was quite exciting for me as I was able to see the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, as well as walk the red carpet. In this case the carpet was actually a seafoam green, which was very fitting for the premiere. I finished the week with cast interviews which will be posted throughout the next week or so. Stay tuned for that, but for now I get to share my Dead Men Tell No Tales movie review, and some of the experiences I had at the premiere.
For the red carpet I wore a black and rose gold LuLaRoe Carly, accessorized with lots of rose gold jewelry and a pirate-y belt I found at Ross. Pretty awesome, right? I also added some strappy heels and lots of curls, to finish off my look. I felt amazing and loved every minute of the night.
I spent much of my time schmoozing, eating, and hanging out with my good friend, Laura, from Food Fun Family. There was a pre-party where we had makeup touch-ups, temporary pirate tattoos, a selfie booth, crafting, entertainment and more!
We even encountered a few celebs we just had to snap a picture with.
Something neat about this premiere is that we were allowed to snap photos in the Dolby Theatre, while the cast was introduced on stage. We just had to make sure phones were put away when the movie started. We were three rows back from the stage, so we had a great view!
Now time for the show!!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales starts off with a lot of humor and excitement. I was captivated from the get-go! This film introduces you to a couple of new characters: Henry Turner (son of Will Turner) and Carina Smyth (a female astronomer who is looking for clues on her father).
Both new characters have prominent roles in the film, and they do an amazing job! It doesn’t hurt that they’re not bad to look at either! We also have the return of Jack Sparrow (of course), Captain Salazar and Captain Barbossa. As you may already know, Will Turner has a tidbit of time in this film as well, but you’ll have to wait and see if there is a return for Elizabeth Swan. There’s been some speculation…and I’ll keep you waiting just a tad longer.
Jack Sparrow is his typical wacky self, Salazar is out for revenge and you’ll learn the complete why, and Barbossa has a bit of a different role in Dead Men Tell No Tales. You just may even start to like him – but you’ll have to decide for yourself. There are some surprising allies in their quest for the Trident, as well as a secret shark attack.
There are some definite spoilers I could give away, but I think it would be best to just go see the movie for yourself. You’re definitely in for an entertaining 2 hours and 33 minutes. Be sure to catch opening weekend this Friday and Saturday!
