I am so lucky to be able to say I was among the very first group of people to screen Doctor Strange. With the official movie theater release happening today, Marvel fans, you will not be disappointed with the newest addition to the Marvel family. I’d love to share my Doctor Strange film review, in hopes it will help you make the decision to check the movie out this weekend!
I’ve always been a fan of Marvel, but I’ve never purchased the comic books, and I don’t know all of the stories, but I really enjoy the entertainment the movies provide. Because the Doctor Strange characters were cast so well, Doctor Strange is up there with my favorite Marvel movies – perhaps even my favorite. Between the cast, the special effects (which are unlike any Marvel film up until this point, due to the latest technology), and the message, it’s definitely a must-see.
The biggest take away of Doctor Strange is that “it’s not all about you.” I think so often we turn into ourselves and become consumed with our own lives that we forget to think about those around us. Doctor Strange is directed by The Ancient One, to think beyond himself and make decisions that can affect the most people, for the better. We all have periods in our lives where we are faced with a similar decision, but how often do we sacrifice our own wishes and desires for the greater good? Doctor Strange is a great reminder to us all to not be so selfish and arrogant.
Doctor Strange is filled with a good amount of action, deep-thinking, meditating and humor. I don’t think there is any cinema aspect the film doesn’t touch on. I would love to see if the love interest between Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Christine (Rachel McAdams) grows more in the next movie. That’s right – there’s going to be a next movie! Be sure to stay through the credits for a sneak peek, as with any Marvel film.
Take the family to see Doctor Strange, in theaters today!
I was invited to an all-expense paid trip for the purpose of screening Doctor Strange, and interviewing the cast. All opinions expressed are my own.
