LEGO® Playlists To Occupy the Kids When You’re In Survival Mode

I was just talking to my mom on the phone about some really hairy survival moments we have had. We came to the conclusion that just about every day is survival mode. Parenting 4 children, working from home, traveling for work, etc., is not typically an easy thing. While I usually gain pleasure out of each of these tasks, when combined, they can be a challenge.

There are many times where I feel like I have so much to do and I don’t want to add another mess or another fight to break up, in the mix. For moments such as these, I am desperately searching for something fun enough, and cool enough, to occupy the kids. I have found ONE of those things. For the times when I have a Skype meeting, an important phone call, or a huge mess to clean up and don’t want the kids getting in the way, I have discovered the LEGO® channel. To be honest, my kids discovered the channel before me. I have caught them watching video after video. Now that I know it is something that interests them, I decided to create a playlist while they were at school. In my playlist, I added some of the LEGO® videos that I thought would entertain my boys the most. I plan to create a playlist for Bea (the little girl) next. There are some adorable LEGO® Friends videos that I think she would love – as long as her brothers aren’t hogging the computer!

I introduced my boys to the LEGO Playlist I created, and they were so excited! I’m sure they will add to the playlist as they go. For now, it is a quick and easy thing I can use to occupy the kids when I’m in a pinch. Let’s be honest, we all have these survival mode moments right?

The new LEGO® YouTube channel has over 500 videos to choose from! I’m sure you can get quite creative with your playlists. You can also create several playlists; one for each category/title. These videos are from a name you trust, with more videos being added daily.

Custom playlists are an easy way to build something special just for you and your child(ren). If you want, you can even bring the kids to the computer and create the playlist together. It could be some great bonding time BEFORE the storm! The infographic above gives you step-by-step instructions on how to create your own playlist. To get started, you just need to visit the  Official LEGO Channel. Then just follow the steps listed above.

Playlists are easily made from the Official LEGO® Channel and can be accessed by parents and children, anywhere you go. That means that whether you are in the care, at an airport, waiting in line, doctor’s office, around the house, etc., you have a backup plan for helping those little rascals behave and be more easily managed. Add a few legos to play with while they watch, and a snack, and you should be all set!
Thank you to LEGO and Technorati for being sponsors. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. All opinions expressed here are my own.
