Shower Cleaning Tip

I have a tip for keeping your showers looking clean and sparkly longer. The shower is not one of my favorite things to clean, by far! If I can go longer in between cleanings, I will. As soon as I think my kids can do a decent job at scrubbing the showers, I will definitely be passing that job onto them. Watch out kids!  In the meantime, how about a trick to help you go longer between cleanings?

Get your shower nice and clean (sorry – you will still have to do that), however you like to. Dry it, then get some regular ol’ car wax (make sure it is clear), and rub down your shower!! This will keep dirt and mold from sticking to the shower, for a longer period of time! Plus the wax will make it sparkle! A tip to help with soap scum is to use bath gel instead of bar soap! I’d love to hear if any of you try this.

If you want to give this a try, I found a couple of deals on Wax, on Amazon.

Meguiar’s A1216 Car Cleaner/Liquid Wax. 16 oz. – $5.97 (from $26.94)

Mothers California Gold Sealer & Glaze – 16 oz (Ultimate Wax System, Step 2) – $7.89 with Subscribe & Save

Or you can browse all Waxes yourself – Car Wax

  • Lemon oil on glass doors works awesome too and helps repel water which translates into less water spots and soap scum build up!

  • Something else that works well on tubs and shower doors is to spray straight vinegar to get soap scum off the doors and walls. I have been helping a friend get hers clean and it is slowly working. Once we get hers done I may ask her if she wants to use wax or use RainX as it does a good job protecting the shower doors from water spots and buildup. great tip!
