Mega Bloks House Party + Amazon Sales

I just had a Block Party – A Mega Bloks Party! It was a blast – me, a bunch of toddlers and some mommies. The kids ranged in age from 18 mos to 3 years old. They were so excited to each receive their backpacks full of MegaBloks to play with and take home. The MegaBloks included Jungle Friends Sets for the little boys and Garden Friends Sets for the little girls. The girls were especially thrilled to have pink and purple MegaBloks, rather than the traditional primary color bloks.

The sets included a variety of stickers for the children to apply to the Mega Bloks. We took care of the stickers first – which was a bit challenging, since the children didn’t quite have the motor skills to apply them correctly and, of course, they wanted to take them off and reapply. In the future, I think I would apply the stickers myself beforehand, which might remove some of the interest in removing the stickers.

Then we had fun mixing and matching the animals, such as a tiger and a parrot or a ladybug and a bumblebee. The children enjoyed finding the correct pairings. Each Friends bag backpack comes 18 pieces for lots of building and learning possibilities. We built a few towers with the large tub that came in my party kit, and then had even more fun knocking the towers down. That’s the great thing about MegaBloks – they are indestructible and encourage creativity and demolition. Nothing is better for little hands than to put together and take apart. The kids also had fun making animal sounds of the critters from the Jungle Friends kit. We spent a little time identifying colors. The girls had pink and purple down pat, but the other colors were a little challenging for toddlers. It was still fun to interact with the children and they especially enjoyed adult attention and some one on one.

A great yummy treat idea for your MegaBlok Party is some Mega Munch. No party is complete without treats!
